Strong summer heat, emotions and roar of the engines set the beginning of “AUTOCROSS BEMOL CUP 2010” in Edinet, that also was the 4th stage of the national autocross championship of the Republic of Moldova. While extending its presence in the north and specifically in Edinet region, BEMOL is proud to also bring joy and excitement to the community where it is present and therefore came as sponsor and organizer of this race together with the support of its partners. This event brought together people from all around the country and even from abroad, as it hosted participants and their teams from Ukraine as well.

 
There were 5 categories of participants: 7th class; 8th class; 12th class; buggy and buggy junior. The specifics of this tournament is its age category that varied from children to the most experienced drivers.

The tournament was divided in two rounds of 9 laps each, one lap being 1050 meters long. It was everything but safe and planned. The battle was intense and participants strongly determined to show their best results.

There were a lot of exciting moments out of which the most intense ones came from participant nr. 61, who’s left front wheel could not handle the pressure and detached from the car, rolling with high speed across the racetrack, fortunately avoiding the crowd. The driver however did not loose the control of the car and honorably finished the lap on 3 wheels. 

 

Another intense situation was brought to the audience by the Champion of Moldova in Drag Racing, Igor Vrabie, who decided to actively involve in autocross life as well. After coming second in the first round, he was strongly determined to win the second one, however one unfair move from his fellow opponent, threw Igor Vrabie’s car off the track 1 meter above the ground and placed it almost side ways vertically to the ground.

 

“I saw first the sky, then the ground and a vertical horizon, and then quickly put all my weight to the left side to put the car right, thanks to God I ate right before that, turned the wheel to the right and switched to first gear” said Igor Vrabie.

Being an experienced driver he positioned the car successfully on the ground and with no delay was returned on the racetrack finishing second.

 
With no injuries and after a long day of excitement, clashes and battles the participants reached the ceremony of awards where the winners, one after another, stepped on the pedestal with honorary applauses and received their cups and prizes.

Their main prize was a BEMOL Card, credited with quality fuel from BEMOL. Along with that the winners received presents from BEMOL’s partners: Shark powered the winners with their energy drinks and a number of presents, so did Catal Lux providing oil and accumulators and Moldcell – cellphones. 

 

BEMOL is very proud to be part of such an energizing and up lifting event, and to be able to bring joy and excitement to regions where such gatherings count as the most awaited events of the year.
